Margaret Kihuru’s farm is located 150Km north of Nairobi, near Nyeri, which is one of the finest speciality coffee producing regions in the world.

Margaret took over the farm in 2018 when her mother passed away and has since rehabilitated the farm in her honour. Margaret is a member of MECOP, an association of small Kenyan producers led by David Maguta, which works exclusively with Belco to develop the European market and gain more independence from the Kenyan coffee industry, which operates on an auction system without traceability.

Margaret is also part of the HANDS ON COFFEE project with Belco where the goal is to reduce the environmental impact of coffee production in Kenya where washed processing is tradition, by developing the natural process, which will improve quality and consequently increase producers’ income.
