Kenya – Nyeri Hill Farm AA – 250g

Nyeri hill farm is owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri and comprises of Kamwenja and Hill farms .The farm ownership dates back to early 1890 when Kenya was still a British Colony. The farm is unique due to the fact that it is among the first coffee plantations to be established in Eastern Africa with its first planting in 1914. Additionally its large size is unequaled in the region and its wet mill was constructed way back in 1934. This mill was then used by the Consolata Fathers to process coffee for export to Italy. The mill is still functional today. The farms intended use has always been to eradicate poverty and improve the health status of the people.

From the year 2000, the farm was rehabilitated through improved management and adoption of innovative farming practices. Production has progressively improved both in quantity and quality and the estate has been able to support many with employment and charitable acts.

The coffee itself is a superb find from our partners at Cuprima & once roasted has produced some amazing flavours like Orange blossom, blackberry and lime. It is the first coffee to find it’s way into our Premium Edition bags. We will be releasing 12 coffees this year in this new range & feel this one is a fantastic coffee to start with.

Take a peek at our brew guides on how to get the best out of this bad boy.

Once roasted all our beans are sealed in our bags to maintain optimal freshness. If you would like we can open and grind the beans to your preferred setting. ie V60, French Press, Espresso. Just leave a note in the checkout cart and we will take care of the rest.
