The Gobiado farm has planted 50% of their area with Orange Bourbon and 50% with Red Bourbon.

Bourbon together with Typica compose the most culturally and genetically important groups of coffea arabica coffees in the world. Bourbon is characterized for is tall screen size, is low production, susceptibility to the major diseases but excellent cup quality. The variety was introduced to Brazil around 1860, and from there rapidly spread north into other parts of South and Central America. Today in Latin America, Bourbon itself has largely been replaced by varieties that descend from it (notably including Caturra, Catuai, and Mundo Novo), although Bourbon itself it is still cultivated in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru. Orange Bourbon is a hybridization of Red and Yellow Bourbon first found and developed in El Salvador.
