The Chacón family has been growing coffee on Finca Las Lajas, at the foothills of Poás Volcano in Costa Rica’s central valley, since 1936. Oscar and Francisca Chacón are third generation farmers preserving the legacy of Las Lajas while pushing the boundaries of coffee farming and processing.

In 2008 the region experienced a massive earthquake that produced multiple landslides which left water and power shut. Oscar and Francisca persevered and decided to process their entire harvest naturally.vSince then, Finca las Lajas has been one of the pioneers for honey and naturally processed coffee in Costa Rica and an inspiration worldwide.

The family strives not only to farm in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible way, but also to produce coffee of the highest quality.

Once roasted all our beans are sealed in our bags to maintain optimal freshness. If you would like we can open and grind the beans to your preferred setting. ie V60, French Press, Espresso. Just leave a note in the checkout cart and we will take care of the rest.
