Daterra, meaning “From the earth”, is a well-known coffee grower and exporter from Brazil. Located in the Cerrado region, they benefit from perfect conditions for arabicas with a steady climate, dry-fresh winters and warm-wet summers.

Since 1976, Daterra has focused on producing high quality coffees, sustainably with advanced technology. Daterra is the first farm in the world to receive “Level A” certification from the Rainforest Alliance, the world’s highest sustainability recognition. As active leaders in the coffee industry for sustainable practices and innovation, we are beyond excited to bring you one of their fantastic coffees to try.

This coffee is a natural tree dried process which means that cherries were left on the trees for a longer time, allowing them to go through the full maturation process and dry while still attached to the branch. This processing technique is only possible if the weather is very dry and stable during harvest – in fact, in many regions, allowing coffee to dry on tree could be a big problem: the excess moisture can develop fungus and other microorganisms. Because of Cerrado’s unique traits, this process is possible – which is great, because it brings very positive attributes to the cup: tree-dried naturals usually show heavy body and extra-intense sweetness. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we do.

Once roasted all our beans are sealed in our bags to maintain optimal freshness. If you would like we can open and grind the beans to your preferred setting. ie V60, French Press, Espresso. Just leave a note in the checkout cart and we will take care of the rest.
